Haggis Horror Nights – Shallow Grave
The Scottish American Society of Dunedin is offering a new series of films this Autumn season called the Haggis Horror Movie Nights in celebration of All Hallows Eve. Just in time for the Celtic inspired holiday we call Halloween, this short series of classic mystery and horror films set in Scotland and England will be screened at the historic Scottish Cultural Center at 917 Louden Avenue in Dunedin. The Scottish American Society will roll out its new state-of-the-art film equipment to provide an excellent movie experience. Patrons can also buy popcorn, candy and beverages for a great and safe night out. Tickets are $5 at the door and, due to COVID-19 protocols, attendance will be limited to 50 people per film on a first come, first served basis. Doors will open at 7:30 p.m with all shows beginning at 8:00 p.m.
Shallow Grave was directed by Danny Boyle and marks the first starring role for relatively unknown actors Ewan McGregor, Kerry Fox and Christopher Eccleston. This dark comedy of crime and murder is set in Edinburgh and follows three friends who fall out over a suitcase of stolen money as criminals and the police begin to close in on them.
