The mission of the Scottish American Society of Dunedin is to promote and preserve Scottish Arts and Culture. We do this by assisting students enrolled in Scottish arts programs (Highland dance, Bagpipes, Scottish drumming).
We at the Scottish American Society of Dunedin wish to assist students with their studies of the Scottish Arts. We are currently offering financial aid awards.
To make application for financial aid:
1. Applicants must be currently enrolled in one of the Scottish Arts Programs in
Pinellas County.
2. Applicants can apply once per calendar year. Other requests for financial aid will
be evaluated by merit.
3. Applications must be in writing (or email). If mailed, send to SAS Financial Aid,
Post Office Box 2606, Dunedin, FL 34697. If emailed, please submit all
documents to Deb Davidson at [email protected].
4. Applications must include an essay of no less than 300 words.
5. All applications must be signed by their instructor/coach and must include a letter
of support. Additional letters of reference are welcome.
6. Applications will be considered by the Executive Board of the Scottish American
Society of Dunedin.
7. If awarded financial aid, recipients are expected to perform at an event at the
Scottish Cultural Center of mutual convenience.
8. Proof of award funding must be provided to the SAS Board of Directors once
monies spent (example: travel to competition, uniform expense, purchase of
music/instrument).
